WOW Experience!! The food was exquisite - I never expected the quality or more than generous quantity we received. I was very impressed by our server, Candice. Having been a bartender and server in Palm Beach, This was the best service I've had in years. Candice was efficient, intuitive, and especially pleasant. We have lived in Mount Dora for 3 years and I don't know how we have missed this place. I do know we will return.
Great spot in a great town. Staff was very accommodating. Appetizers were perfect, the kids all ate their meals(that never happens) and our entrees were excellent. Good Arnold Palmer, very good merlot(no drafts however). But 3 adults and 5 kids $200 with tip. Worth the long drive to a unique little neighborhood. If I lived in FL I'd be back.
I rarely leave a poor review, but this time I felt obligated to be honest. My friend and I went for an early lunch. We were promptly greeted and seated in a nice window seat. This place seemed promising, however, there was a stale smell in the air- likely the carpets need a refresher. I overlooked that and had high hopes based on the good rating. The waitress, Betty, was very accommodating and pleasant. She raved about our choices but I have to say, I was sorely disappointed. I ordered the spinach pie with a side salad. It was visually unappealing: over cooked, soggy crust and the spinach was dark and didn't seem fresh, as Betty suggested it was. It was absolutely the worst thing I have ever eaten in a restaurant. It tasted as though it was severely freezer burned, with a strong smokey/plastic taste. I have eaten many many spinach pies in my life, and was looking forward to it, but could not eat more than a few bites. (I forced myself to try it for more than one bite). The tziziki was watery and had no flavor at all. The arugula salad was drowning in a dressing that was disproportionately vinegar. Nothing fresh or light about this meal. The coffee I ordered to get the taste of lunch out of my mouth was bitter and not great either. I am not usually a complainer, but this time, I have to say it was a thumbs down experience. Two stars are for the view and the service.
When the food came out two hours later, 6 out of the 8 dishes came out cold. One of the hot items, was an over poached salmon.
By far one of the worst experiences. The only reason we stayed the two hours was for the company we were with.
The manager never came around and apologized, probably too embarrassed. Half the staff was in tears.
No explanation of what happened besides, they were “out of pasta”.
Yesterday my husband, my sister and I ate lunch here. We have come here a number of times over the last couple years. The food is excellent, staff is very accommodating and our server, Betty, is just wonderful. We have been lucky enough to have Betty for our server each time we have been there and she makes us feel like family. Can’t wait to come back
This is a must avoid place. Save your money and go elsewhere.
